DNF @ 31% SPOILER

The H was the biggest douche !!!
The first meeting was a one night stand and even if i find it a little insulting he bailed just when he finished. I guess it's how it works for some.
But after that when he try to seduce her only because he wants to secure his place on the team i wanted to slap him so hard !!
I really saw him as only a misogyn and disrespectful guy.
It felt like she was just a ticket to use whenever he wanted something to benefit him .
Ava was "powerless" in front of his "hotness" which fucking annoyed me.
I've read some books with similar struggles and enjoyed them because it didn't feel like the h was just an object, you could actually feel some chemistry.
Here i just wanted to spit on his behavior and shake the girl.
I'm pretty sure if i continued, the story would turn in the advantage of the girl (him running after her or whatever) but i didn't want to still read about characters i can't stand/respect.
So yeah ... this one wasn't for me.

Omg I was sucked in at page one and didn't stop till I was finished! I couldn't put Rush and Ava down! Once you get your hands on this book you'll be sucked in. You have your hot QB and the girl he can't get off his mind. Their story is great and you won't want it to end! Loved it!! Have to say I wouldn't be too upset if SE and Hilary gave us more of Rush and Ava!!!

SPOILERS and UNPOPULAR OPINIONS
Very sad to say, this book didn't work for me. I love [LOVE] S.E. Hall's writing, but seemingly only when she writes alone. I thought Ava was wishy-washy , that her and Rush's connection was too 'insta' and Rush's character does this 180 without any real explanation of why he suddenly wants a real relationship with Ava. I skimmed to finish, very predictable, lots of steamy scenes, not enough character development.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL? Well, I was, but I should have known better – after all, it’s off-season for the NFL. Rush Riggins's "plays" were way OTT and far too many. The first night stand meeting between Rush and Ava turned my stomach. And any connection between them thereafter felt cold and calculated with no meaningful feeling entering the picture. From the start, I just got an icky vibe and it continued throughout. He may be the star quarterback, and believe me he won't let you forget how great he is -- in or out of the sack. But one thing's for sure, he's pretty much a full-time douchebag -- too much of one. But I held on hoping for a turn at some point. After all, there's supposed to be a hot "romance" in the mix and I was betting on a TOUCHDOWN! Well, the romance got sidelined and all we really got was a bunch of meaningless hot and heavy sex. Add to the mix that I was thoroughly disgusted by Tyler, the best friend. In the end zone, all I got was fumble after fumble and a big loss on and off the field. Well, as the saying goes, you can't win them all!

I have always enjoyed and been a happy reader with each book I’ve read by S.E. Hall. Hilary Storm is new-to-me, although I’m surprised since she’s an Oklahoma author. I’m usually pretty in tune to my home state talent. So, naturally the collaboration from these two authors writing in my favorite genre – especially when it’s my most favorite sport of all -- was just too much of a temptation to resist. Sadly, it just didn't score.

My biggest problem with this book is that why can't the women character be strong enough to resist this guy's characters advance?
Yes, Ava was hot for him but, because she became owner of the football team he plays on she continued to tell they couldn't be together. But, he wouldn't stop getting in her face giving her his grin and dirty talk and she couldn't resist him.
Can't we have more Heroines that are strong and can resist a guy for more than a paragraph?
I skimmed most of it. I'm glad Amazon has a return policy for books.

OMFG This book was just Amazing. Steamy as all hell, I completely devoured this book and while I should have probably gone to bed I had to stay up way past my bedtime to read this.

S.E. Hall and Hilary Storm gave me a lady boner with Rush Riggins. He oozed confidence and was relentless with Ava. At certain point I thought to myself HOLY SHIT dude you need to be slapped but as I continued to read it I found myself falling for Rush and his Alpha attitude, his brash cockiness and his vulgar yet seductive mouth. This book had me completely giddy and honestly talking out loud to myself. Every word that came out of Rush's mouth had me saying OH MY FUCK.

The scenes between both Ava and Rush will leave you rubbing your own legs together they were HAWT !!!!! There was no shortage of chemistry between the two of them.

Ava was soo very loyal and really has a rough go of it and I wanted to be her friend immediately. I could understand her hesitance to be with Rush but at the same time also knew that it was almost impossible not to fall for him.

There are some other characters in this book that I also loved that added some laughter to this steamy romance. Ava's friend Marcy, Rush's little brother Jett and Rush's best friend Ty added to their story and I definitely hope we get some books about them.

This book is an instant fav read for me. Rush Riggins is going on my list of Book Boyfriends.
I absolutely 100% recommend this book if you are looking for a steamy read with a hot Alpha male and some elements of comedy and sweet and swoony romance.

Quarterback Sack by S.E. Hall & Hillary Storm

If you're looking for steamy, look no further! Hall & Storm know how to dish it up!

Quarterback Sack is a fast paced book filled with enough steam to set your Kindle on fire, while still maintaining a storyline that will completely draw you in.

I loved Ava Vanderbilt's character. She has so much thrown at her, and handles it all with dignity and pride. Ava is one of those characters whose unselfish nature shines through, and you want so bad for her to find her HEA & show the big boys who is boss!

Rush Riggins is definitely an alpha male, who doesn't lack one bit for self confidence on or off the field. And to be straightforward, he's not one of those characters you immediately like. He has some brashness about him that dominates the beginning of the book, leaving you wanting to thump him in the head a few times.

However, Rush is just what Ava needs to break out of her self control and find true happiness. And in the process, he ends up completely winning me over and stealing my heart.
I love that Hall & Storm give us such a strong personality, and have us enraptured with him to the point of wanting to immediately read the book all over again just to absorb all the feels!

4.5 Hot Stars!!!

I’ve had my eye on this book for a while. From the time I first heard about the book, I knew it was right up my alley. Which, when you think about it, is weird. I mean, I’m not a football fan. So me liking football romances is just a little odd. But I digress.

I’ll admit that when I started this book, I really didn’t like Rush. I’m not even sure I have the right words to describe my feelings for him beyond saying I didn’t like him. I felt like he was going to make the book a chore to get through. But then as I kept reading, he started growing and feeling things and I warmed up to him. But as I warmed up to him, I started disliking Ava. It just felt like she was a one note type of girl. She had her view of why she and Rush couldn’t be together and that never changed. From page one until almost the end, it was the same argument over and over and over again. I just got frustrated with her. Rush was showing her in every which way how he felt and what he was willing to give up for her and she just kept the same position.

Overall, yes, I enjoyed the book. But I also had some issues.

Perfect if you're in the mood for a hot and steamy read!

My review may contain minor spoilers, so consider yourself warned.

So, while I did enjoy this book and for a first-time collaboration it was quite good, I can relate to some of the negative reviews. The writing was pretty fantastic and I don't think I've ever read a sports romance with a storyline like this, so that was a plus.
But... Rush, seriously? After their one night stand, he leaves right after he's done. Okay, I guess that happens, but later he claims to have felt something special even back then. Once he learns who Ava is, he wants to seduce her again so he can secure his position on the team. Come on, so not cool. He did change and became an actually likeable character at the end, but to be honest, his change of heart wasn't really believable.

Rush Riggins meets Ava Vanderbilt at a club and has a romp before leaving not planning on seeing her again. Rush is the back up quarterback to the Tennessee Football team and when he gets his chance at being the lead quarterback he is thrilled. His high though is short lived with the teams owner passes away and it is announced that Ava will be the new owner. Rush realizes quickly Ava does not want anyone to know they met under any circumstances and uses that to his benefit. Problem is Rush decides he wants Ava and Ava is reluctant to let others know she is seeing Rush. What will happen when he lays it all out for her?

I liked parts of this but felt some of the ways that Rush and his teammates talked grated a bit over time. Good story though.

Hot from the very beginning!
Rush & Ava will suck you in and keep you glued to the pages until the very end.
The QB who could have virtually any woman he wants and the extremely hot woman he can't get out of his head.
When she realizes who he is she wants nothing to do with him, but Rush doesn't give up on what he wants and what he wants is Ava.
But Ava has one huge reason to steer clear of him, even if that's the last thing her body wants.
The man is sex on legs and the worst part is he knows it. Not one to take no for an answer he relentlessly pursues her giving her nowhere to hide.

Something's gotta give, but who is going to be the one to bend?

I'm picky about my sports books, you can get burnt out on one genre quick when you read as much as I do but Quarterback Sack didn't let me down. The heat level is off the charts, characters are absolutely addictive and the writing is as always superb.

An enjoyable sports romance. Rush and Ava will cause you to want to pull your hair out with some of the things they do, but that is what makes the story interesting. The book is well written. Characters are enjoyable. Plot is realistic. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger. I would highly recommend this book.

Rush Riggins, I Love You!!

Ava, Ava, Ava... You indecisive little butterfly. I get why you're reluctant; the guy has a messy sexual past. But quit using your new job as an excuse! Are you the boss, or aren't you?

Rush, you sexy gridiron alpha beast! Thank you for being strong enough to anchor Ava while she fought your connection. Thank you for breaking through the false divisions between you two, whether by action or patient inaction. And thank you for being a bossy sex god.

Lots of heartstring tugging here, and I got the warm fuzzy feels for some of the supporting characters - like Rush's mom, the Thunder coach, Marcy, and even Jett - who really embodied the familial love and support that Ava was looking for.

Lots one star because I hated Ava's initial reaction to learning Rush was her team's quarterback. Wish she had handled that more maturely. But she redeemed herself and overall a terrific sports romance.

First off I have to say I am completely jealous of the great ass on the cover. Lets just all admit that its pretty sweet. :) Okay, its time to get down to the brass tax. This was one of the best sport romances I have ever read. Not only did two of my favorite writers put this kick ass read together but they did a bad ass job with it. The characters have chemistry that is out of the park. Like flaming pages kinda hot. Rush is.... hell I cant put him into the right words. But to me hes just all that and then some. I couldn't get enough of him. His humor, alpha hotness, attitude, just all of it is perfection to me. Ava is just as bad ass as him. Usually theres just the alpha guy and the sweet timid woman. Nope. Not little Miss Ava. Shes as stubborn and strong willed as Rush. And it makes for some serious fireworks. This book had everything I love in a good sports romance. There was a little angst, a lot of sexual tension, a strong alpha male that can handle his business EVERYWHERE, and a heroine that I want to be when I grow up! Great job ladies. Yall killed it!!!

Rush and Ava meet and share a hot unforgettable night not bothering to share their names. The next day, Ava's grandfather passes away and leaves her the NFL team he owns. Turns out Rush is the quarterback and he has no intention of letting Ava go even if she thinks they can't see each other.

I loved Rush. He's a big sweetheart of a flirt and is used to getting any woman he wants. He changes for Ava and goes out of his way to prove himself. I only liked Ava okay. There were a number of times I wanted to slap her upside the head and knock some sense in her. Her back and forth and constant denial drove me absolutely crazy. It just drug on and on and on. Her best friend Marcy was a much more likeable character and I'd love to get her story.

Overall it was a good book. I simply adored Rush.

When I heard SE Hall and Hilary Storm were writing a book together, I was sure it would be great and then I heard it was a sports novel and well.. I knew it would be epic! I was absolutely right!

Rush Riggins is a sexy dirty talking quarterback that will melt the the pages right off of your kindle. Add in his determination and persistence to make our sweet Ava see that what they have is real and he is down right swoony!
This story is filled with sexy, steamy scenes, and a couple you can't help but love. You are likely to find yourself, like I did, wide awake at 2am because you can't put it down!

looking for that book that has steam coming from the pages from page 1 then this is the book for you.

For me the main character Ava Vanderbilt is to be looked up to. So much was pushed her way, things she didn’t even want but she rose up to the occasion, ignoring all the people who doubted her, even her own so called family, took the bull by the horns and rolled with it, she made mistakes, who doesn’t but she came out at the end of the book victorious, strong, determined and still a lovely caring hearted person. Ava is so endearing she makes your heart melt; she is selfless to a fault and has such a big kind heart. Not afraid to get her hand dirty she soon shows everyone who is boss.

Rush Riggins at first I didn’t like him, yes he is an alpha male but such a cocky, look at me kind of guy that he actually got on my nerves and made me cringe with some of the way he acted, he does endear himself to you though throughout the book and you see a softer, caring side of him, you have to crack through the layers though to get there but worth it when you do.

The good thing about Rush is that instant attraction to Ava. However, Ava has a strict rule not to get involved with someone like Rush. The desire these two have for each other is obvious, but Ava’s barriers are up and as she tries to stick firm to her rule. Rush has a challenge now to show & convince Ava that she can bring the barriers down and trust him and to go for what she desires.
Rush’s determination to help Ava stand on her own feet, seek what she wants out of life and go for it is refreshing.

They have a connection there is no doubt about it but will Rush win Ava’s heart, that you can only find out by reading the book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

NFL quarterback Rush Riggins has it all. a perfectly honed body, agora nice that is sexy and irresistible charisma. Every girl want to be with him.....except Ava Vanderbilt.

Ava has made it very clear to Rush that his relate takes flirtation will not change a thing. She only has one rule. She doesn't date football players. Rush though did not get to where he is by giving up. He is nothing if not persistent. The end zone is not the only line he will be crossing.

Welcome to the story of Rush and Ava. Grab this book, make sure you have everything you need around you be sue once you open this book you will not want to move from the spot to the very end. Rush is the man. I fell so hard for him even if he did frustrate me at times . Though when you get so many emotions from a book that's the fun of reading I think. The chemistry between Ava and Rush is absolutely amazing. I could feel it oozing off the pages. I love a good man with a mouth on him and Rush has one ......excuse me while I swoon once again.

You do not want to miss this book. I have to admit I've not read an S.E Hall book but I'm going to cure that soon. I know it's in true Hilary fashion to melt the kindle right in your hands. This book certainly will leave you hot under the collar. I'm so hoping we get more books about the supporting characters in this book too.

So disappointed. I expected more from this author or I would never have purchased this book at full price. Since I'm a big sports romance fan plus a S.E Hall fan I was expecting a new, fresh storyline. Unfortunately that's not what happened. If you have read "It Had to Be You (Chicago Stars Book 1)" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips you have read this book and Susan did a better job. This is nothing more than a tired retread of the same story. I even liked "Taking Shots (Assassins #1)" by Toni Aleo using this same plot but in a hockey setting better than Quarterback Sack. The characters in Quarterback Sack are one dimensional and there's no character development until the final pages when things get rushed. My opinion- save your money and read or reread It Had to Be You by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

Ava and Rush.
Well let me tell you. It starts out where shy, never done this before, Ava meets sexy Quarterback Rush and ends up having a one night stand. Only she doesn't know she will be crossing paths with him again in ways she never imagined.
I fell in love with Ava right from the start. Not only because of her true, honest personality but also because of her commitment to honour her grandfathers whisked.
Rush, what can I say. Sexy is one word that comes to mind. But that's not all, once you get to know him you will see his more personal side which is just as sexy.
Two people so obviously meant and right for each other but kept apart by her reluctance to follow her heart, afraid of the consequences.
A delightful, sexy story. Couldn't put it down. A five star read by far.

As soon as I saw that HIlary Storm and S.E. Hall had teamed up I knew it would be a wild ride but I had no idea how WILD it was going to get until I dove into the pages of Quarterback Sack. From the beginning I connected with Ava and all her rule following ways and I couldn't wait to see how her story would play out in the hands of these wonderful authors. When Rush enters into the picture things get seriously laugh out loud funny with a little chaos thrown in for good measure and I never wanted to put the book down. I wanted to hate Rush so much for pushing and pushing but I grew to love his way of making you see how things should be no matter who is watching. To watch Ava grow into a strong and confident woman despite the many obstacles she faces was absolutely amazing and I want to be her when I grow up. I laughed, I cried and I may have yelled at the book a couple times but in the end it was worth every single emotion to get to be in the world of Thunder football.

Steamy sex, alpha male football player and sassy driven woman. What more could you ask for from SE Hall and Hilary Storm?

From the moment this book started I was completely taken by Rush Riggins! This hot quarterback from Tennessee had me wriggling in my seat as I read each delicious demand that poured from his mouth. Hall & Storm's character oozed with confidence that was sexy on and off the field.

I love me a strong, confident, driven female in any book I read. Hall & Storm didn't disappoint with Ava Vanderbilt. I loved watching her fight for what she wanted, deserved and also giving in to what she needed.

Quarterback Sac is everything you expect from Hall & Storm. Rush and Ava are a story that demands to be one clicked.

Rush Riggins is every bit cocky and confident. Not to mention sexy. He knows you don't get where you want to be by sleeping your way to the top-- you work hard for it.

Ava Vanderbuilt is strong and witty. She represents a true lady. Someone who wants to do what's right and is willing to sacrifice love because of it.

Rush and Ava's attraction to one another is off the charts hot!!!
SE Hall and Hillary Storm have come together and did a fantastic job sucking you in, leaving you desperate to see where this story goes. If you love an Alpha who respects others and a true lady who burns up the sheets, you definitely need to read this book.
